Accounts & subscriptions

From sign-in details to configuration updates, first make sure you’re using the right account and subscription.

Do I need an email address to create an account? How should I protect my account details?

No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password. Keep both secure, and use a password you don’t use on other sites. Treat your subscription link like account credentials: don’t post it in public forums or include it in screenshots. Before switching browsers or reinstalling your system, make sure you can sign in to the user panel, then remove account data from your old device. If you forget your login details, check your password manager and any devices where you’re still signed in. For help, contact support through the site. Never send your password through public channels or use your full subscription link to identify your account.

Where can I find my subscription link? Why do I still see old routes after updating?

Sign in to the user panel, find the subscription link in your account overview, then import it using the method supported by your client. If you already have a subscription, open the client’s subscription manager and update the existing entry instead of repeatedly adding configurations with the same name. After updating, check that the refreshed configuration is enabled, then reopen the route list. If the old details still appear, first make sure your plan is active in the panel, then check whether the client reported an update error. Local configurations you edited manually may not sync with the subscription. Keep any settings you need, reimport if necessary, and verify which configuration is currently selected.

Do I need to choose a new plan when I switch devices? How can I check data usage across devices?

There’s no limit on the number of devices that can be online at the same time, so changing devices alone doesn’t mean you need a new plan. Sign in to the user panel on your new device, get a client for that platform, and import your subscription. Unlimited devices doesn’t mean unlimited data: check your plan’s data allowance and usage shown in the panel. When you stop using an old device, turn off auto-connect and remove the local subscription. Before handing the device to someone else, clear any saved login details. If your usage changes unexpectedly, check for background syncing, system updates or continuous streaming on each device, then compare the panel’s records rather than checking only the device you’re currently using.

Which platforms are supported? Do I need to sign in to get the client and subscription?

Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux are supported. The user panel is the central place to get the client and subscription. You must sign in to access the subscription. Clients for platforms other than iOS are available after sign-in; iOS access depends on eligibility shown in the panel. Before installing, check that you’ve selected the right platform and review any network permission prompts. Settings may have different names across operating systems, so follow the options shown on your device. Installing the client doesn’t connect you automatically: import your subscription, select a configuration and route, then turn on the relevant connection feature. Marketing pages don’t provide direct installer downloads. If you find an installer from an unknown source, return to the user panel to get the client.

Connections & troubleshooting

Narrow down the issue by checking your local network, account status, client settings and target app in that order.

The client says it’s connected, but international sites won’t load. What should I check first?

Temporarily turn off the proxy and check that your local network can reach sites you normally use. If your basic connection isn’t working, fix that first. Once it’s back, check your plan status, remaining data, current configuration and selected route, then make sure the client’s system proxy or equivalent traffic-routing feature is enabled. Try the target site in a browser, then check another international site to see whether the issue affects one site or the whole connection. If the browser works but other apps don’t, check how those apps handle proxy settings. Change and record one setting at a time; switching routes, editing rules and changing DNS settings all at once makes it harder to find the cause.

Why does the proxy work in my browser but not in a particular app?

Apps vary in how they handle system proxy settings, so a working browser doesn’t mean all your apps are using the proxy. First check whether the app has its own proxy settings. Then see whether the client’s active rules are sending the app’s domain through a direct connection. If the app doesn’t follow the system proxy, check the client’s guidance on virtual network adapter or tunnel mode, and make sure the required network permissions are granted. Before enabling either mode, understand how it may affect other network connections on your device. After changing settings, quit and reopen the app to clear its existing connection, then check the client’s connection log. Don’t leave global mode on as a substitute for troubleshooting rules; once you’ve found the cause, restore a configuration that suits everyday use.

Subscription import failed or an update returned an error. How can I tell whether it’s the link or my network?

Copy the subscription link again from the user panel. Make sure it contains no extra spaces or line breaks and that no characters are missing. Check that your client supports the import method you’re using. Don’t use your account sign-in page URL as the subscription link, and don’t submit the full link to a public conversion site. If it still fails, check your local network and system date, then review the exact error from the client. An expired link, an incompatible configuration format and a failed request each need a different fix. You can try importing again while keeping your existing configuration. When contacting support, include your platform, the steps you took in the client and the exact error message. Hide your subscription details and account credentials in screenshots.

My connection keeps dropping, or won’t recover after my computer wakes up. How can I troubleshoot it?

First check whether disconnections coincide with sleep, switching networks or system power-saving settings. After a device wakes or switches networks, an old connection may need to be re-established. Try turning the client connection off and back on, then reopen the app you’re using. On mobile devices, check whether the system restricts the client’s background activity. On desktop, check whether another proxy tool is running and repeatedly changing your system proxy settings. If the same route behaves differently on different networks, note the network and what happens on each one. If several routes keep failing, save the error messages and note when they occur, then send them through a support ticket. Reinstalling repeatedly can erase useful troubleshooting details.

Speed & routes

Test the connection with the task you actually need; probe latency alone doesn’t tell the whole story.

When things slow down at peak hours, should I switch routes or change client settings first?

First rule out local downloads, cloud syncing and Wi-Fi interference. Then compare routes using the same destination site. Keep the device, network and app the same and change only the route so you can see the difference. Peak-hour performance depends on your local connection, the international path and the destination service, so the latency shown in the client alone isn’t enough to judge it. Compare other routes in the same region first, then try another region that suits the service. Avoid switching regions frequently when a service expects you to stay in one region. If web pages load normally but video keeps buffering, check the video quality settings and the destination service’s status. Keep a route that’s been reliable for everyday use and note when problems occur to help support investigate.

How should I choose between IEPL, transit and direct routes?

Route types describe how a connection is routed; the label alone can’t tell you how it will perform in practice. IEPL, transit and direct routes use different paths, but the experience also depends on your local network, destination region and current network conditions. First identify the region required by the service, then compare available routes by page response, continuous playback or long-lived connections. Don’t keep switching away from a route that meets your needs just because another route has a different label, and don’t assume one type is always faster. Check the routes page for coverage details. X1VPN covers 120+ countries and offers 190+ routes; see the user panel and your updated subscription list for current availability.

An AI tool or streaming service says my region isn’t supported. Will switching routes fix it?

Not necessarily. A service may check your exit region, account region, subscription eligibility and its own risk controls; the network connection is only one part of the picture. Check the service’s regional requirements, choose a route in a matching region, and make sure the relevant app is actually using the proxy. After switching routes, reconnect the app. If needed, check the region settings saved in your browser, but don’t clear all your account data without understanding the consequences. If the site opens but sign-in, playback or tool features are still restricted, note the exact message and check the relevant account requirements. Route coverage doesn’t guarantee access to every library or AI feature; verify the result with the service itself.

Why is loading slow when latency is low? Does that mean the route’s speed test is inaccurate?

Latency mainly measures the response time for a round trip. It doesn’t fully reflect sustained transfer speeds, connection stability or how quickly the destination site responds. The address the client tests may also differ from the service you’re using, so low latency and slow page loads can happen at the same time. Test the activity that matters to you: check whether page resources finish loading, whether AI requests and persistent connections work, or whether video keeps buffering. Keep test conditions consistent when comparing routes, and avoid large downloads during the test. If every route is slow only on one site, check that service’s status first. When reporting an issue, describing what you were doing is more useful than sending only a speed-test screenshot.

Billing & refunds

Check your plan terms and order status before making changes, paying or requesting a refund.

How much do monthly plans and data packages cost, and which should I choose?

Monthly plans: ¥9.9/month for 60GB · ¥18/month for 250GB · ¥28/month for 500GB. Data packages: ¥158 for 300GB · ¥358 for 1000GB · ¥658 for 3000GB. Data packages are valid until used and never expire. If you use the service regularly, choose a monthly plan based on the usage shown in the panel. If you use it less often, a data package may suit you because it doesn’t expire. Before choosing, distinguish between monthly data resets and data that lasts until used. Don’t compare prices alone, and remember that unlimited devices doesn’t mean unlimited data. Check the user panel for full plan details and options available to your account. Marketing pages don’t add unlisted billing periods or estimate prices for combinations that aren’t shown.

When does monthly plan data reset? How is the price difference handled if I upgrade mid-cycle?

Monthly plan data resets each month on the day you activated the plan. The price difference for a mid-cycle upgrade is calculated based on the remaining days. Check your current plan, usage history and validity period in the user panel. The reset date isn’t necessarily the first of the calendar month, and an upgrade difference doesn’t automatically mean an equivalent amount of data will be added. Before upgrading, confirm the target plan and details shown in the panel. After the change, check your account again to verify the plan and validity period. If the client still shows old details, update your subscription and check again. If the order status and account details don’t match, keep the order information and contact support through a ticket. Don’t submit the same order repeatedly.

Which payment methods are supported? What should I do if my plan doesn’t appear after payment?

Alipay, WeChat Pay and USDT are supported. Start the plan and order process from the user panel. Check your selection, payment amount and the instructions on screen before proceeding. After paying, return to the panel to check the order status and account overview. Don’t assume the plan is active just because the payment page has closed. If your payment appears but the order or plan hasn’t updated, refresh the page and sign in again, then confirm you’re using the right account. If the issue remains, submit a support ticket with your order details, payment method and a description of the problem. Hide personal details that aren’t needed for troubleshooting in payment screenshots. Don’t pay again until you’ve confirmed the status of the original order, to avoid making it harder to resolve.

What is the refund policy, and how do I request a refund?

X1VPN offers a 30-day no-questions-asked refund. To request one, sign in to the user panel, open the support ticket page, state that you’re requesting a refund, and provide order details that can be matched to your account. Read the refund terms in the Terms of Service to check what’s covered. If you’re also having connection issues, you can include the troubleshooting steps you’ve already tried to help support understand your experience, but you don’t need to present technical troubleshooting as a reason for the refund. Check that your request is complete before submitting it. Add any follow-up details to the same ticket and check for a reply rather than opening multiple requests. Marketing pages don’t promise unlisted processing or payment arrival times; check your ticket and payment provider’s records for updates.
